Captain Pat Heaney
Pat Heaney started his fishing career at the age of seven, fishing on City Island and Manhattan party boats. In his teens, he worked deck and pulled fish on boats such as the Sea Queen with Capt. Fred Schmal, Tampa VI with Capt. Dennis Miano and the Becker family and the Betty W. II with Capt. Al Coley.
After high school, Pat graduated to full time lobstering on board the Miste Rose, Crystal Marie, and his own boat November Gale. Adventure called and he found himself in Kodiak, Alaska crewing on a variety of boats in several different fisheries. Back on the east coast, a job on the offshore lobster boat Freedom, with Capt. Marc Ducharme, lead him to settle in his adopted home of Newport, RI where he has continued to fish and lobster full time for almost 20 years.
